Relationship Between Environment and Your Health

May 15, 2022May 25, 2022 by Cathy Baxter

Taking care of your body may be the priority, but taking care of the environment is just as important. When you live in an area with clean air, clean water, and green spaces, you help your body thrive, and you may even experience fewer toxic side effects from medications. Your environment can also impact your health, especially if you live near pollution or other environmental hazards.

The link between your environment and health is a hot topic these days. As our cities become more and more crowded and polluted, we’re forced to ask ourselves: is our environment affecting our health? Are pollutants in our environment really affecting our breathing and, therefore, our health?

Factors Which Can Affect Health and Cause Disease

The factors, which affect human health and cause disease, can be divided into two categories: genetic and environmental factors. Genetic factors include hereditary characteristics and are passed down through generations. Environmental factors, on the other hand, are those that an individual has no control over. These include things like nutrition, pollution, and toxins.

Human health is affected by many factors. These can be divided into two major categories: internal and external factors.

  • Internal factors – are those that reside inside the body. Examples of internal factors are height, weight, gender, age, and other physical characteristics. Internal factors can affect our health by affecting our physiology. Physiology is a group of physical, chemical, and biological functions that are common to all living organisms and determine the structure and function of an organism. Examples of internal physiological factors are blood flow, respiration rate, and body temperature.
  • External factors – are those that reside outside the body. Examples of external factors are medications, alcohol, stress, and exposure to sunlight. These two categories could influence our health in different ways.

The relationship that our environment has with our health is talked about a lot. Many believe that it is the environment that we live in that influences our health, but others feel that it is the way we interact with our environment that determines the overall health of our body.

The relationship between the environment and our health is complex. Both positive and negative factors in our lives play a role in the health of our bodies, our mental and emotional well-being, and our ability to sustain optimal health. It’s not just our genetics, our lifestyle, our socioeconomic status, our access to health care, and our access to health care coverage that can all contribute differently to our own health.

Role of Environment in Human Health

The environment plays a major role in the health of humans. The environmental factors include chemical pollutants, physical features, natural hazards, and social factors. Environmental factors have a significant effect on human health. Some of the factors include air pollution, water contamination, poor nutrition, and nutrient deficiencies.

Environment plays a huge role in human health, especially in children. Kids spend a lot of time in varying types of settings, including daycare, school, and at home, and during this time, they are exposed to many hazards and risks. Children can be exposed to lead, medications, household cleaning products, and even bacteria, which can cause illness or even death.

The environment is a huge part of your daily life. It affects the things you eat, how you dress (and how much), where you live, everything. But have you ever given much thought to how the environment affects humans?

How Does the Environment Affect People?

The environment is everything around us, other people, animals, plants, and animals. When everything in this environment is intact, it is considered healthy. When things are out of balance, it is considered a “disturbance” in the ecosystem.

The environment can have a profound effect on human health. For example, exposure to pollution can cause disease, and prolonged exposure to certain bacteria can increase your risk of contracting tuberculosis. The environment also affects behavior. For example, it has been widely reported that exposure to environmental toxins, like lead or pesticides, can result in changes in behavior, including hyperactivity, aggression, and learning disabilities.
